Bridgework: favorite designs?

My dirty little secret is that I've relied mainly on cheap Chinese hardtail bridges for a good number of my builds so far. Once or twice I attempted to fashion my own bridge/saddle, which turned out to be a piece of red oak with a steel rod set into it. The results were ehhhh, both sonically and visually.

I'm looking for some better ideas on making a bridge/saddle for future builds. Anyone care to share a few of their better/proudest designs?

If you go to the video section and search for "bridges" you'll find a video that a kind member made. He went through the galleries and took pictures of some nice bridges and compiled them into a slide show set to music. Lots of inspiration there. For my first build I'm just using the old bolt bridge. Not very original, but simple, cheap and fits the looks I'm going for. Using a bolt for the nut as well. (Using a bolt for a nut is a weird thing to say)

I have used chopsticks as the saddle set into a wood base gives it that old school look. Look for the bone white ones shape them to a triangle on one side to give you a takeoff point for the strings and your good to go. Look at Victoria aka vicky she has one as well as Brundle Fly. Cheap and keeps them out of the land fill and you get 2 nuts and 2 bridges out of one set if your making a 6 string and more if you are making 3 or 4 strings. The ones they give you at PF chang's are a real hard plastic so I snag all I can when there. LOL
