First build, in progress

I have added some pics of my first CBG, Neck is from a bed, Box was donated by dad, it held parts, tailpiece if cut from a rain gutter bracket, bridge is from some flooring wood, nut screws are from an old Evinrude, the tuners I bought new because my music shop wanted more for used one from his parts bin. What do you think? More pics on my page.

Oh that is going to be SUPER! Hey, make a good neck for it. I would screw the neck onto the lid (check with me on some neck tips) in case you want to remove/change the neck for such a great box (I did).

Got to find something to make the inside edge of the f holes look older to match the rest of the box, looks great.

Good suggestion Roger, they don't stand out as much in real life, I think the camera flash made the cut wood jump out some. I might just put some furniture oil on the cuts and see if it darkens some, the aging on the box is old gun oil mostly and age.

Update: I fitted the neck on temporarily and strung it up, tuned to GDG as suggested by Shane. Wow it sounds great to me. The best sounding Cigar box guitar I have ever built! I have not yet put in the piezo and I might not, it really sounds pretty good on its own, must be the aged wood box.
I am taking Wes's suggestion and screwing it together so things can be changed/ modified or whatever. These cigar box's are cool. More photos later.

Thats a good 1st or 20th even. Your off to a great start. I'm with shane on the GDG , I tend to go with that tuning most of the time

Minwax makes a color Driftwood that is just a tad grey/brown. I've used it to help fresh wood look more like older wood nearby.

Sam, the bridge is carved from a piece if oak flooring trim strip and the tailpiece is bent from an aluminum rain gutter bracket. Simple and free. Thanks for the comments everyone.

Looks like the strings are going thru metal guides of some kind..... can't tell from pic...
