Thank you, BrianQ. . I am pretty excited about all this. You all look like a great bunch. But I have a question, please: Is there a teacher or mentor who can help me get started? I live in the Northern Virginia suburbs of Washington, D.C. I'd love some help from an experienced player to speed me along on this exciting journey. Thanks for any help. Les Potter
My First CBG is going to be made with a snapper turtle shell, 3 strings, poplar neck ( I already have these things ). Haven't decided how i'm going to close up the back of the shell yet, maybe just a 1/4 inch birch ( from 1 of my flooring jobs) cut to fit. Any ideas would be helpful. Also have not decided on what kind of pickup to use. Thanks, Bob.

Hi Brian, Thanks for the welcome. I have been watching videos from Glenn and Dell and enjoy their videos very much. I have been looking at everythin I could find on cigar box guitars. I hope to find more time to work on my build and on my playing. Thanks again.

Thank you Brother, glad to be here !!!
Thanks. I am feeling VERY confident about the lap steels. I think there is the potential for me to turn out some pretty nice pieces.
Caveat... These are NOT going to be furniture woodworker quality, but they will not be hacked junk either. I'm looking at it as half folk art...
