Bob, this is my favorite Whitley song. He played in lots of  really funky tunings. In this song he is playiing a 1930 National Duolian. Love the sound. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_6DzLsfwe4U

Bob, it is a 1133. National made them  in 1956 and 57 as student guitars. They are 3/4 size and the resonator is exposed on the front and back sides. Neat little guitar.
