Thanks guys. I hoped to finish the series with #4. But... I guess there will be Part 5. It’s coming out good so far. Today the pegbox took all day.

nice! even though the top was warped, you arched it into submission. love the padauk accents. also love that you use a hand screwdriver. a power driver cannot "feel" the wood. will the old box receive any finish? i go on too much. please add part 4.

Yup.  I liked the arch too.  You end up making a true instrument built for sound.  Nice music and viewing.  Stay warm. buddy.

Thanks Denbo, Thanks Brian. I’ve discovered the good use of relic boxes that have badly warped tops. Flip the top! You get the box cheap because The Cigar box collector isn’t interested in warped lid boxes. Add to that some cracks, and a mouse hole and you have junk prices with an arch top instrument future. The top is much stronger arched to hold up to string pressure and it looks good too. If I tried to flatten the warped top, the wood would split. You have to make it an arch top. :D)
