I can't believe I've been listening to The Budrows for almost three years now. It's great to see you doing so well. People are always asking about you when they hear your music blasting out of my phone. I just tell them to check you out on facebook.
Thanks, man. I'll be checking that demo out tomorrow while at work. You're welcome to come around the shop any time; just let me know when you want to swing by. I've already sent your information to the owners of Golden Crown and got a response from them. I'm not sure but it's sounding like they might have all their shows booked for this season. I'm going to give them a ring tomorrow and see if I can feel more of an impression out. Will let you know.
Hey Jason, the 2nd week of April will work. That is the 9th correct? And yes we have Open Mic every Saturday except for weekends with Holidays. I'll wait for you to confirm but I'd say we can have you guys do your set around 8:30 when it'll be most likely there is a bigger crowd present but it will also depend on the number of performers that night, if there is only a few people we'll just have you close the night, if there is a lot of people we'll out you guys kind of in the middle but you wouldn't go on later than 9pm unless you have a preference. Let me know what you think. Also if you have a flyer or poster or something email it to me and I can post it up in the Coffee Shop ASAP.
thanks Jason..wasn't at all sure that the slightly distorted sound went with a female voice??..but decided to stick with it (partly because it's something to hide behind, lol!)
I used a pretty standard mike - a Sennheiser e825s, then after recording I added a free FX that emmulates the Tube Screamer pedal.
Hey Jason, if we can set up a specific date I could probably arrange the open mic so that we could have you guys do a 30min set. I have been talking to Josh Gayou from Smokehouse Guitars, he's a CBG builder out in Lake Elsinore and he'll actually be coming down this Saturday to check out the open mic and have me jam on a couple of his builds. Maybe we could set up something where we can get a little CBG jam going on. I'll have to try to make down to one of your shows, I think one of the people that sets up the Santa Ana Artwalk works in conjunction with my boss. I work at Peet's Coffee in Tustin and I always see emails from her about Coffee donations to the Artwalk, I hear its pretty cool. Anyway let me know of any Saturdays you'd be interested in coming down and we'll work something out.
I somehow had the impression I did not like The Budrow's stuff. Man, was I wrong. The last 2 vids were great and I went back and listened to the old ones too. Like em. Great playin. Good vocals. Remind me a bit of Janis Joplin. That girl singer is pretty and good. If she can just put a bit more GROWL and BLUESY in her voice and at the right times, she will be GREAT. Pass the message on. She is sooo close to having "That good thing which we can not put into words."
Hey Jason, you guys have an awesome sound! I first heard you guys on the CBG Masters Vol 4 and just found out you guys are local to SoCal. I run an open mic out in Corona on Saturday nights, I know thats not really close to Laguna but if you're ever interested I invite you guys to come jam! I've started playing my CBG there and everyone really digs it, it would be awesome to see more CBG being played. Anyway thought I'd shoot you guys an Invite!

Welcome and well met. And thx very much for the friend invite! :-)
Thanks for your kind words, and for listening to Blues Committee.
Love your art guitars too!
Thanks! Cool slide making video too. I think the trick is getting that score line straight. Like the simple jig.
Jason,
Love your Mojo Hand and black cat builds. Like Stack Shot Billy. The Budrows are growing on me. Glad to have you for a nation friend.
John
I just had a listen to the demo album, and I must say I like it, a lot. Keep on going the way you are going, it will pay of, if it hasn't already.
Good luck,
Vince
