Thanks for the interest. Yes, all the brown designs on my guitars are woodburning. I just use simple repeating patterns, X's, dots, crosshatching, lines that woodburning books illustrate for a sampler burn to build skills. They add interest and deflect attention from my marginal finishing skills plus it's fun and pretty easy. Again, love the flamin CBG stand, keep pushing the edge of the envelope!
Yes mate you got that right its all about having fun and enjoying what your doing - great theropy also keeps the brain working , thanks for the freinds invite also , glad to accept
Juju.
Glad you like the fiddle! It sounds clear, but a little quiet and a bit whispery. Currently having some trouble at the neck join, so I'll have to chalk it up to experience and try another someday. Live and learn!
yep dg i gots to input jacks on that omar rig and the first vid is just something to compare the second vid to. so i have a 4-pole mag pup Stonehenge on one jack and a tesla transducer hooked to the other jack. when my other amp comes in that i,m waiting for i will do a 2 amp stereo recording to see the potential of the omar build. and because the top of the guitar is a 3 piece removable top i,m gonna remove the lower piece and add a blend knob to be able to roll between the two amps while playing. also i will be able to remove that lower part of the top of the guitar without even untuning the guitar. thanks fer the cool comment dg.
Hey dg,
I used the E, A, D, and B strings. They are Martin Medium Light acoustic strings. A local music store had 6 or 7 boxes of 12 sets. The guy who owned the store said the B, and E strings were bad in a lot of the sets so I bought them for $2.50 a set. (yes I loaded up on them). I started out with G D g d tuning and have it tuned to D A d a. The top and back of the Kohiba box are very thin. I was initially concerned that it would be too thin so I made sure the top of the neck came in contact with the underside of the top all the was through. It is loud compared to my first builds using boxes with thicker tops. I am working on one now where I took my Dremel router and cut down the thickness of the top (underside) and will do the same on the bottom. I have a picture of how I installed a 'door pull' on my page. This is the guitar I am currently working on that I did the 'thinning' on. Good luck on the 3 string.

Thank You for taking the time to check out my video! Boy these CBGs are really addictive ,I feel like playing these sometimes more than a reg store bought 6 string!
