I finished Steve's red punch yesterday! This thing is loud and plays buttery smooth. The action is set up for fingered playing, but you can still work the slide very well
Shane, Yes it is present at all levels. If I touch the output jack or the tone or volume controls it cancels out, but not when I touch the strings.
Thanks, Tony
Hey Shane, Thanks for the advice. I'll try that because I really don't want to get that involved just yet. Luckily I have a good Peavy Firebass 700 with a 4x10 2x15 stack. That should blow the windows out of the house! Not to mention driving the neighbors nuts. L.O.L. If you have a paypal address I will send your money for the upgrades that way. The tile in the kitchen kind of put me in a bind this month. Not to mention just about killed this crippled up ole body. but what mama wants mama gets. Ha.Ha! Doing it through paypal will also buy me some time before mama starts bitchin about all the money I'm spending. To bad I'm not rich brother cause I'd would share the wealth. Also my friend on Amelia Island's phone number is 904-261-7222. His name is Mike Garbarini. I think you guys would hit it off. Tony
Hey Shane, I got the guitars yesterday. What can I say but WOW! Man the punch is just unbelieveable. The Cohiba is really feedback prone though. I'm thinking that I might install an under saddle transducer to get rid of the tinnie sound. But other than that I couldn't be happier. I tried to call you today but got no answer. I'll try back later. Thanks a million!
Later, Tony
Okay - it's on my site you can take it from there. Let me know if there is anything I can do to help. You know there maybe a few more CBG builders in the area we might think about getting together and sharing some ideas. Just a thought, take care - Jim
Hi Shane , just like to thank you for your great comment on my last build The Plank , in reply to your question , no it's sold mate it was commissioned by Hollowbelly , he told me he wanted a non CB Guitar with three strings and fretless with a adged look to it and rust if poss , so this is what i came up with , very pleased with it myself and it also sounds cool , i have added a sound demo to my profile page called The Distorted Plank if you care to check it out , mind you i'm not the best player in town but i think it gives a good idea of what it sounds like
thanks again bro
That's cool. Hey look on youtube for Pat Cook he has a great tut on reso's that's where I looked when I started putting mine together. If I can help I'd be glad to do what I can. Take care neighbor - Jim
I have a DeWalt scroll saw. Any scroll saw you should be able to get all sizes of blades for. Here is a link to the type I have just so we are sure of the type saw I am talking about.

If the saw you have access to is this type of scroll saw I don't mean brand, but power type, you can get blades at your local Sears. There are two types of blades, ones with pins at each end and ones that don't have pins. You need to know which type the saw you can use has.
And yes you probably could cut something out with a jeweler's saw, but I couldn't! I;m not steady enough.
Shane, thanks for the nice comment on my ukuleles, I cut the sound hole "cover" out in a separate piece of wood using a scroll saw. Then I routed a groove around it so it sits into the hole in the box.
