An american that likes our warm beer ! how refreshing,,,(unlike the beer) haha, im too old for beer now,it gives me bellyache. so i drink gallons of gin and tonic instead, & whiskey & vodka &........
Hey Alan, whats wrong with our food? I need your addy to send you a red cross parcel of, jellied eels, pigs trotters, cow heels, cod cheeks & spotted dick, mmm, yummy.. eat up buddy :)
Hey Alan, I'm not looking for the DaVinci Code, just know some of the movie was filmed in Scottish Church that my daughter visited a couple times and she was all excited about, I know the movie used several other locations for filming though.
I like your Uke1. That kind of sound box is one of the kinds of instruments I'd like to build after I have done a few more with home made rectangular boxes. It probably requires steaming wood, so that's another process I'll have to master. I've seen the process described at another web site, but I'd have to dig through my hierarchy of bookmarks to find it again. Other than steaming the wood, it should be an easy box design to build. How was your it for you? I guess you're working on Uke2 now?
I'm an HTC/Sprint/Android combo myself - mail and net connectivity has always been good, but speed goes south once in a while if I get too many apps running in the background. Have you been able to get any connectivity with your device ever, or is the problem you're having something that was working and broke?
thankyou sooo much alan, I keep hearing that line from a christmas story in my head " you'll put your eye out" so for hers im gonna use the nylon... thanks again..
Thank you Alan for your comment. Bill is playing the Highway 61 model made by www.republicguitars.com
If you decide to purchase one, tell Frank, Keni Lee sent you. He usually gives a nice discount to my referrals. Enjoy.
Alan you don't need to "unlearn old practices", you just need to learn new ones. And practice, instinctive shooting works best. Like pointing your finger at a flying fly around the house. Just keep practicing.
Hey Alan,
Have you ever thought that maybe the shotgun doesn't fit you right? or sighted in correctly? Shooting trap isn't the easiest thing to do, but the next time you go,.. just remember this,... "lead and follow through" meaning shoot a little infront of the clay and swing through. My hubby is a hunter for food, not a trophy hunter and he taught me alot. I shot my first wild turkey a few years ago, it weight 23 Lbs.
Hunter Safty course is a great Idea,.. I highly recommend it to every man, woman and child. Even if they don't hunt, they need to know how to handle any gun weither it's loaded or not. Afer all,... "It's not the Gun that kills,... It's the person behind the gun"!!! Sorry don't mean to sound like a commercial ! LOL
Heh, thanks for the comment. Veneer is a plate of lacewood. It has a fantastic grain and works very nicely as well. I have another guitar that I did where the entire neck was made out of lacewood (see it here: http://smokehouseguitars.com/blognewsroll/?p=833 ) and it remains my favorite to play to this day.
took me a minute to register the smokehouse cone thing.ok those cones are brass and they are turned on a lathe in texas.you screw them down and no soundwell is needed. the guy that gets them turned is a guy in texas called old lowe--he is a member here, the smokehouse guy also sells them for old lowe on his smokehouse site. those brass cones have a great sound and are warm sounding for tone compared to aluminum which is brighter in tone, and i have a video on my page called (my lowezo) if you would like to hear the tone of the brass cone.they are not very expensive to get. last time i checked the ones that are cigar box size are only 25 bucks, the larger ones are 35 bucks.any how i have used many types of items to make resonator cigar box guitars with,i once even used an aluminum center hub cap from a chevy caviler car, that one is in a arturo fuente king b cigar box in my pics on my page. check out the vid when ya get time and if ya talk to old lowe about getting a brass cone tell him the cajun sent ya.
hey Alan, i just stopped by ta answer a few questions fer ya. on the first aid kit build the biscuit is an old radio knob of some kind,i liked it cause it has numbers on it. on the 6-string cover plate-- i made it from an old aluminum pot lid. thanks fer the comment on the whiskey spelling, appreciate all your comments, take care, thanks again.
Hey Alan thanks for the comments on the build. I am still more builder than player but if you check out Keni Lee Burgess you can hear one that I built that is very similar. "The Art of Cigar Box guitar" Keni is a great player... Thanks again - Jim
Your determination finally paid off! Thank you for your order. I will ship it out tomorrow. Please contact me if any questions arise as you work through the lessons. Enjoy.
I clearly understand your situation. I wanted to return a defective ink cartridge to Dell. I no longer had the order number. 9 transfers, 45 minutes, many representatives in India for a $20 product. They make it very easy to take your money, but almost impossible to get it back. Thank you for your persistence. Hit that beach soldier! LOL
Thank you for your interest. Sorry about the paypal inconvenience. I cannot fully recommend this, but many customers in the past just sent cash (US) and there was no problem. All CDs are $9.99 each. Please see the auctions for shipping rates. http://shop.ebay.com/njmikeb/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_from=&_ipg=&_trksid=p3686

Alan, the latest photos are the ones on the fake animal print blanket, a macanudo and an arturo fuente. I think the space between the neck and lid works, all mine have been just acoustic so far so i don't know how it would affect the piezo but I don't think it would as the piezo is just picking up vibrations. Judging from your pictures it looks like you know what you are doing.
