Hi Richey, thanks for the kind words about the instruments on my site - the photos make the guitars look better than they actually are in real life. It's all smoke and mirrors! I'm based in Todmorden. I'll no doubt be in touch in the new year with a shed load of stupid questions about bracing...in the meantime, wishing you and your family a fantastic Christmas!
Hi Richey, It's back to your local model shop for the brass sheet, they sell it in various thicknesses. The stainless steel I've used, some came from a vegetable slicer my beloved had in the kitchen (got a few parts out of that ) the rest was scrounged from a local sheet metal works, offcuts from a kitchen canopy they were making at the time.Model shops are a good source for small section brass strips, rods and tubes ( see the string trees on cbg no.11 )
If you have a look at my photos you will find a few ideas on box construction. The boxes built using solid timber, like you propose, have the best sound. It's easy to joint those 100mm sheets, lay them on a board with a piece of 1" x 1 1/2" pine screwed down either side. the distance between these should be about 3/8" greater than the width of the boards you are glueing. Use three or four pairs of wedges pushed together to clamp while glueing. A couple of sheets of newspaper under the work will stop it sticking to the board. more newspaper on top and a batten clamped on each joint will stop the work bowing. If your careful you will only need to scrape off the newspaper after the glue is dry and lightly sand

Looks good Richey, nice clean and simple lines. I am amazed at how quickly you've finished, it you mustn't spend as much time at the pub as I do
P.S. the string trees photo is on page 8

You could try fan strutting like they use on classical guitars.
You will need some struts on the sound board. This one has a through neck cut away to make space for struts and pickup
