You are welcome. I was browsing the other day and came across some of your comments and saw your new or old build. Can't wait for your pic on your new build.

Great job on first build. You are right, you will be building more and more, it gets into your blood and soul. But is fun.
That's not a bad idea. Thanks for the tips. Nice pics by the way. I like the wood color. I'll have to experiment using some metal parts. I just got a palm sander and my new CBG is already looking alot better than the previous ones that I did by hand. I look forward to seeing your future builds!
Thanks for the comments man. I'll keep that in mind. The lower bridge was really only supposed to be decorative but it didn't turn out so well. Instead of fixing it, I just built another one. Haha!
Thanks for the info and encouragement. I'm working on my second cbg and I have a wooden box with oak reinforcing panels on the interior ends. I'm thinking of doing the same with the sides. Also using oak for the neck rather than poplar. I mostly make canes so I like things stout.
this is a wonderful site.all this great stuff people make.wow..a sitar?..im gonna have to look that video up on utube..sounds very cool..good luck w/ that..
my husband just recently started making the kalimbas & the sound inspired me to try & figure out how to make a sort of xylophone.rite now im in the brainstorming phase..but, cant wait to dive in.
what did you use for tuning pegs? did you order some online?? all the music stores near me sell a set of pegs(6) for 19.99 and up. I don't want to use anything to cheap so that it won't stay in tune at all.
Welcome aboard, Eric! You will find lots of helpful folks and information here on all things CBG (CBU, CBB, etc.) Feel free to poke around, ask questions, and post your stuff (photos, recordings, videos, etc.).
Up in the Free Resources menu at the top, you will see a number of plans for building and playing cigar box guitars/ukuleles/banjos/dulcimers/violins. I encourage you to download any of the plans, take a look at them, and ask questions from there. Also our site is VERY searchable. I bet you your questions have already been asked, so take a few moments and look around.
Join our Chat sometime (see the bar at the bottom of your browser page). Keep in mind that tho the chat window says there are X number of people online, not all may have the chat window up.
I'm not sure how to reply directly to ppls comments either (so on your profile will do) I have a few vids so you can judge for yourself http://www.cigarboxnation.com/video/video/listForContributor?screenName=2qs1e3yvivgu6 Plugged in sounds like a Tele with a little bit of natural reverb....not really a cigar box for a true traditionalist...but I like her. Working on a few others...
