I recently finished a 3 stringer with 2 pickups controlled by 2 volume pots,instead of a 3 way switch.Thanks to David L.for telling me about this idea (Stracciatella Mod). I used the coils from 2 Gitty Gold Foil pickups.Diodes are soldered between each pot and the jack. Instead of soldering my grounds to the back of the pots, I flattened a piece "tin" from a can and mounted the pots thru the metal and tied all the grounds together with a bolt. It made a nice clean connection.

I recently finished my 1st CBG using 2 pickups and a 3 way switch. In the neck position is a lipstick tube(4.52 ohms) from Gitty.. A single coil(9.04 ohms)) from Guitar Fetish is at the bridge. The neck and bridge position sound like I expected, the neck is subdued and the bridge is harsh. My question is about the middle position. Both pickups are active but the neck pickup is dominate and the ohms drop to 3.05. I was expecting more of a equal blend. Any ideas? At the top of this page is a…

I recently finished a 2 string slider. I took apart a Gitty gold Foil pickup and mounted the coil in the lid. The coil is only a 1/4" thick and fit nicely in the lid, and sandwiched it between 2 pieces of a cut up sesame oil can from work. There was a bit of feedback at first so I took it apart and put a strip of electrical tape on both sides of the coil, that cut out most of the feedback. It is some what microphonic but not to bad. I grounded the pieces of can, very quite no string buzz.…
