String height

What's  a good string height i have the CB Gitty three pole magnetic pick up.There were no suggestions in the package.

If you're asking for clearance between the strings and pickup, then this may help.

Adjust Pickup Height

1. Tune guitar and place on a workbench. 

2.  Measure from top of pickup to bottom of string while the string is pressed against the highest fret.

Gibson recommends 1/16" (1.6 mm) for the bridge pickup and 3/32" (2.4 mm) for the neck. My own preference is to start with 3/32" (2.4 mm) on the bass side and 1/16" (1.6 mm) on the treble side for both bridge and neck humbuckers.

3. Adjust the height of the individual pole pieces so they mirror the radius of your fret-board.

4. Hook guitar to laptop and Audacity. Adjust pickup pole pieces until each string volume appears equal.

5. Play guitar with usual amp settings.

    Adjust the pole piece heights in small increments until it sounds right to you.

If you're asking about action height, then a good basis is to set the strings at the nut to between 0.030 and 0.060" and 0.060 and 0.090" at the 12th fret. In the end, action height is a personal preference kind of thing, If you play mostly slide the more action height is helpful. If you mostly fret notes, then lower action will help you .
