I've stopped working on my junkitar. I stopped at the "prototype" phase, and the other ideas for next projects are on standby.

I still have to make a propper nut , the bridge's wood block could be prettier, the rusty nail on the bridge could be changed or polished a little bit, I definetely need to give some finish to the neck, and the lid is a little loose, so it rattles sometimes.

I already decided against frets, and it could benefit from some cosmeticall work, including removing the gunk left from the tag price.

So Why did I stopped?

I can't stop playing the little can. I'm impressed at the sounds I'm getting out of this thing.
So all the free time I have, I dedicate to playing, instead of building.

Although at nights I keep thinking about new projects (I need a bassier instrument), and every little piece of "junk" I see around becomes a "part"... when building time comes, I just play.

Not that it is a bad thing, but I had such great plans.

Thats ok, nothing wrong with that, some get their trills from playing, some from building, some from playing what they built. There is nothing wrong with you. When you stop playing completely, then you have problems.
I'd say that if the playing is what sets your groove, keep playing! You may get to the place where you'd like to vary what you're playing (that bassier sound, or maybe frets, or something) but I think you'll know when you get there, because you'll suddenly find yourself in the shop instead of playing. :)
So much to do... so little time... must quit job... must buy lottery ticket... must invest all my capital on the roulette.
Should I bet red, black or 14?
... and?

which is the usual?

- Playing the can/box, instead of building more?
- Complaining about complications of modern life?
- Or betting ones whole life saving to RED?
- All of the above?
Heh. Si.

Keep up the great work. Feed you're addiction!

I quit when I finished my first one and started immediately on my second. Quiting is easy, it's staying quit that is a problem.
To paraphrase the old barroom joke: "I told my wife I ain't gonna build any more CBGs.... I ain't gonna build any less, either."
Firstly - there is something wrong with ALL of us here lol

Me, I cant stop building the damn things, even though I cant play them.... Id say you have the 'safer' of the two addictions. My mrs would be inclined to agree...
